Immunologic characterization of the 19S and 7S Igs in human dengue virus infections.

Chan and Campos (1974) observed that the 90s IG (IgM) is biosynthesized early in infection and are only of temporal appearance while the 7s Ig (IgM) concomintantly appears with IgM but persists as residual antibodies. Their observations served as the bases of their recommendation to use IgM in a single blood sample as on index for rapid and early detection of current dengue virus infection. This study affirmed and stress the usefulness of IgM for early and rapid diagnosis of dengue virus infections.
